In 1991, cult hero Wladimir Manshanden, alongside fellow icon Stefan Robbers, founded one of the Netherlands' first techno labels: Eevo Lute Muzique. With a legacy spanning over three decades, Manshanden has recently embarked on a series of collaborative records, working together with Bladergroen—the moniker of Dutch electropop and analogue synth virtuoso Aafke Romeijn. On albums '2023' and '2024,' Manshanden presents his electro-poetry—spoken word tributes to the anthems of his youth, including Kraftwerk, New Order, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, and Depeche Mode. His monotone, entrancing voice guides listeners through a retro-futuristic journey, elevated by Bladergroen’s shimmering electronic textures. Not only is this their Dekmantel Festival debut, but it’s also the very first time the pair will perform live together, making it an extra-extra special affair.
