Jungle revivalist Tim Reaper—real name Ed Alloh—has spent over 15 years amassing an encyclopaedic knowledge of the genre, with a particular focus on its golden era in the early to mid-’90s. Yet, to call his music nostalgic would be a disservice. As a forerunner of “new-school jungle,” Reaper masterfully crafts ravey hybrids that traverse the full spectrum of the hardcore continuum, crossing into atmospheric textures, ragga, and more. With releases on Lobster Theremin, Unknown to the Unknown, Sneaker Social Club, and others, his recent collaborative album 'In Full Effect,' created with Kloke for Hyperdub—the label’s first-ever full-length in this style—marked a milestone, cementing Reaper’s position at the forefront of a rave renaissance.
