RHR hails from São Paulo, and that’s more than a fun fact. The South-American mega city has not just raised Roniere Santos, it has also shaped his input and output as a rising DJ. Influenced by Brazil’s funky old-school dance scene and memories of the favelas in which he was raised, a RHR set is always full of attitude, pleasantly chaotic and tinged with melancholy. Mixing various club genres and layering texture on texture on texture, both ‘brooding’ and ‘brutal’ have been used to describe RHR’s sound; both fully apply.
