Ed Handley and Andy Turner have been shaping the landscape of experimental electronic music since the early ’90s, when they diverged from The Black Dog to form Plaid. Known for their intricate, ever-evolving sound, they have carved out a distinct space with a blend of of unconventional rhythms, far-gazing melodies, melancholic ambient passages, and mind-bending IDM textures—which first gained major recognition through Warp Records, and previously has been described as “post-techno”. Today, Plaid’s influence continues to reverberate across the electronic world, in collaborations with left-field pop icons like Björk and Goldfrapp, and in cinematic projects such as the score for ‘Tekkonkinkreet’.
