Peter Hook and The Light

It’s not often that we’re at a loss for words when it comes to introducing a Dekmantel act. Best known as the co-founder and bass player of Joy Division and New Order, Peter Hook (born 1956 in Salford, England) and his idiosyncratic bass lines have left an unparalleled mark on any sound we listen to; from post-punk and new wave to dance, from the 70s and 80s till today. Following his departure from New Order in the early 00s, the Brit went on to form Peter Hook & The Light, a five-member band that keeps breathing new life into the greatest as well as the underrated works of Joy Division and New Order. And while the term ‘icon’ is a little overused these days, it may definitely be applied right here.
