Just when you think a sound bath can’t get deeper, it gets deeper with these two. First, there’s Loek Frey: one of the most promising talents currently emerging from the Dutch scene, label head of OQAD, and creator of a sonic spectrum that merges the organic and mechanical by way of IDM, techno, DnB, and breakbeat. And then there’s Timnah: the Swiss DJ and Amenthia member who was brought up in her parents’ jazz clubs, influenced by her brother’s love of dub and sound system culture, and ultimately became the connoisseur of immersive electronics and “intergalactic carpet rides” that she is today. When these two get in the booth together, prepare for a sonic push and pull that is as elegant and emotional as it is razor-sharp and utterly overpowering.
