Bendik Giske

Rhythmic, spacious and meditative—Bendik Giske is singlehandedly redefining our perception of the saxophone. Born is Oslo but currently based in Berlin, in the past year Giske released his third eponymous album: a sax-centred song cycle of alien palpitations (produced by Beatrice Dillon) which once again emphasises all woodwind elements and techniques that normally fade into the background. Known for his extraordinary solo shows, somewhere between a queer mindfulness exercise and a thrumming sound ritual, this one’s not to be missed.
