Aurora Halal

This year has been a momentous one for Aurora Halal. Not only is her groundbreaking, best-loved Brooklyn festival Sustain-Release turning 10, but she's also putting out a much-anticipated LP, a record she's sure to offer a tantalising taste of at Dekmantel 2024. On releases such as the 'Liquiddity' (2019) and 'Shapeshifter' (2015), Halal fine-tuned a shadowy, psychedelic sound – metallic mood music poised for dance floor intensity. Her live hardware and DJ sets alike have garnered her worldwide acclaim, with both characterised by a hazy sensuality that's playful, dark, acidic, euphoric, and vulnerable all at once.
